Apple dropper Vision Pro 2

Apple lancerede deres Apple Vision Pro tilbage i januar. I tech-verdenen kan vi ofte forvente en hardware opdatering hvert år. Hvis man derfor forventer et Apple Vision Pro 2 headset til næste år, så er der noget der tyder på, at du måske bliver skuffet.

Apple Vision Pro.

Tilbage i januar løftet Apple sløret for deres første nye produkt i en produktkategori siden Apple Watch i 2015; deres Apple Vision Pro.

Der havde været rygter om et Apple VR headset i mange år, men i år var året, vi fik et set Apples take på et headset.

Apple Vision Pro har generelt modtaget gode anmeldelser, hvor især skærmen med dens 3660x3142px for HVERT øje fremhæves igen og igen.

Én ting har dog også gået igen i flere anmeldelser: prisen. Apple Vision Pro er ikke tilgængelig i Danmark, men i USA koster den 3499$ for den billigste version – omkring 24.300 Kr. Mere end en iPhone, mere end en Macbook, mere end en iPad.

Nu kan The Information fortælle, at den høje pris har sat en dæmper for Apples planer om en Apple Vision Pro 2 til næste år.

Apple har tilsyneladende fortalt en komponentleverandør, at de grundet dalende efterspørgsel på headsettet udskyder planer om et ny Vision Pro headset.

Ifølge The Information har Apple hele tiden forventet at lancere to udgaver af Apple Vision – deres Pro udgave, og en billigere ikke-pro udgave. Det billigere headset er stadig på vej, og her forventer The Informations kilder ikke at Apple ændrer deres planer for næste år.

Vision Pro får Meta til at skifte fokus

Den største konkurrent til Apple Vision Pro må siges at være Metas Quest linje af headset. Headsettet er originalt markedsført som et VR gaming headset, men med lanceringen af Apple Vision Pro har Meta skiftet retning og forsøger nu at appellere til en mere casual målgruppe.

De nyeste reklamer for Meta Quest 3 har således været mere præget af et fokus på at se film, serier og være produktiv frem for at game.

Også en nye VR pen er på vej fram Lenovo. En VR pen forstærker den nye fortælling om, at Quest ikke kun er til gaming, men også til afslapning produktivitet.

I april fortalte Meta også om deres planer for fremtiden af deres HorizonOS – styresystemet til deres Quest headset. Meta åbner op for deres OS for andre VR headset producenter, hvor håbet er at gøre VR headset mere udbredte blandt forbrugere.
